Where to gp on a Road Trip

My 14 year old daughter is turning into a bit of a petrolhead and has agreed to go on a road trip with me over the August Bank Holiday. Problem is where to go, any ideas ?

 

We live in Geddington, Northamptonshire and plan to go Friday and come back on Monday. One possibility is to go to Northern France to see the war memorials (she recently went to Belgium to see the trenches and really enjoyed it) but not sure I of how expensive that would be yet.

    Keep a look out in the papers for the ferry offers if you want to keep the costs down rather than paying a fortune for the train.

    If I lived further South, I would be looking for the ferry trip. the weather in the UK doesnt look to good either..
