Trusty 1800 in them, I had a Skoda vrs, and my mates had a TT, and Golf, a Leon, and an Ibiza all with the same lump. Mine was running about 240hp and was still going strong after 110k

Hope this one is as reliable. Gonna give a full service and a good clean up and see how it goes.

The 6speed box is really smooth and delivers the power well throughout.

They seem to eat maf sensors and N75 valves if you piss about with them too much, and all the above threw the eml lights on every other week for ridiculous things. A simple map and induction kit boosts power and economy.

What is the N75? And can the eml light be reset at home?

Has a slight hesitation at lower revs just before boost kicks in. But it is only very slight.

N75 valve is the OEM boost solenoid.

Cheers.

Am gonna see if i can get a ebc and dump valve for it. Have some playtime with it.

Nice, I just picked up a Tdi FR same shape, very pleased with it. Do you know someone with vagcom or other code reader to see if its thrown any faults for sensors etc that may be causing hesitation?

I dont know anyone with one of these. But luckily i have a mate who owns his own garage and has a diagnostics machine.
