power switch on auto TT?

Hi guys what's the power switch for on the auto? If you flick it one way a little 'power' light comes on on the dash and flick it the other way and a 'hold' light comes on....what is it and what's it do??

it makes the gear changes a little later .. and i think the Max RPM is increased by 100>150rpm

Hold is for Towing or driving on snow/gravel stop the box from changing in and out gears if your on the change point IE 30mph and its between 2nd/3rd it will keep it in 2nd

towing??? Lol, I get you though, the more I learn about these cars the more I love them, bleeding clever cars for their age!!

I thought the power switch just makes the box hold on to each gear for longer? The moment you give it any meaningful acceleration it automatically goes into power mode anyway.

Edit: misread what had been already written

Don't think it has any bearing on RPM limit though.

yes towing and there are a few 300's with factory fitted tow bar .... why i dont know cuz it will spoil the car and since when would u tow a caravan with a sports car lol

Power, holds the gear longer and changes at a higher RPM, but as stated above, booting it and hitting the kick down does the same thing anyways. Hold, I 'think' (can't remember, converted mine a while back), sets you off in 2nd gear, and changes gear at lower revs, to prevent wheel spin in dodgy road conditions, basically a girly button, who's gonna use that when there's one that says POWER on it :)
