auto insert in the crank

Anyone who's converted their 300 themselves, how did you get the insert out of the back of your crank before putting in the pilot bearing?

Looking at it last night, I assume that I need a really small puller.

Any tips?

Cheers.

Never tried on a Z, but I once did it on a Rover V8 engine by using a grease gun. Pumping the grease in forces the bearing out.

Cheers, spoke to Mike at MJP and he reckoned just to whack it with a hammer and chisel then it'd come out eventually. Being careful not to hit the crank though.

I love hitting this car with a hammer! smile.gif
