Ticking noise

For the last couple of weeks Ive been having a ticking noise when I accelerate it hasnt got to be hard accelerating to hear it, It is slightly worse when cold but its always there the sound is coming from behind the radio or below it.

Has anyone experienced this or heard this.

hey tezza hows u?

ya car is ticking hey, sounds like mine when i raced someone a couple of months ago

is it like a metalic gargle noise?

ive been trying to solve my probs for months,so good luck.

suggestions ive had are heater matrix leaking

an air blockage in the engine somewhere can cause slight detting ,so clean out and flush ya coolant system

aivs(most common reply)

clutch on its way out

sticking tappets

and loads more if ya want to no.

let me no wat ya find out as im interested, jay

Hiya Jay

You know when kids used to put stuff on there wheels to make the clicking noise and the faster you went the quicker the tapping well thats what it sounds like,(your probaly thinking what the ****s he on about )arnt you but thats the only way I can describe it,

I get the same, but only know and again, the longest time lasted 5mins, came from around back off clocks area, thought at first it was speedo cable, but then realised speedo is electronic(doh),maybe its the mileage meter clicking(sticking or whatever)who knows, dont worry about it now,car runs ok!.

well does it do it a particular rpm? and does it go away under hard accelloration?

just some symptoms of spun bearings on crank (the whole world told me it was nothing as the carwent well, including duffman and everyone elses on here)

just get it checked, noises (are not just alright) because the car is running fine.

im not saying it is that, but im just saying rather prevent something going wrong.

tez, dont think urs is the same as mine ,i have a metalic gurglin noise? i can only hear it when my windows are closed and no noises in the background,i hear it most when i slightly press the gas after idle(eg coasting at 30 mph then slightly accelerate).

mine is the same sound like when ya empty a bath and the last remaining water runs down the plug hole, just very faint.it also seems to sound in time with pressing my accelerator

ive removed my aivs

flushed my coolant

bled all air from the coolant

got good oil/water and fuel pressure

no oil leaks

no water loss

i dont think my car prob is the same as urs but if the symptoms on urs are the same as mine then were fooooked cos ive give in!!

Mine had a ticking noise but it was coming from the back end of the engine at the top, a bit of slick 50 at £25 a litre and it shut straight up.
