for those wising to clean terminal connectors, we all struggle trying to find something to clean the pins with, mainly using a small precision flat head screw driver, sand paper and what ever else has a good contact to rub the crap off the connectors, sometimes with varying results and some times with out paying attention can inadvertently make the connection worse by making the gap wider between the pins to stop it getting a decent contact.

So if you want, here is the correct tool for the job.

i used contact cleaner/oil on mine didn't do a bad job just spray on and watch it bubble away as it removes the crap

I used this stuff, it's mildly acidic and you can see it bubbling up on contact with the corrosion. Cheap too :)

A needle file will clean the female connectors.

That stuff is great i've got some, I also use a fibre glass pen that someone who services lifts on here recommended which is brilliant but wear gloves the fibres stick in your fingers

To finish off I use some marine grade contact gel that Boldy recommended but can't find the link
