audio assistance please anyone

just fitted a new sony head unit but everytime i turn up the volume, i either blow a fuse or the power seems to go off and come back on again. on the red power wire (which i have attached to the yellow continuious power wire on the head unit) there is a little box thingy (which i assume was put in by previous cos its got kenwood written on it) which houses a 7.5A fuse which i keep blowing. can i just bypass this box? or should this wire have a fuse on it? also on the yellow wire (which i attached to the red "switch power" wire on the head unit), there is a small box thingy with a 3A fuse in it. I did try swapping wires round(red to red, yellow to yellow) but this time i blew the 3A fuse!! If this makes sense to anyone please help, cos my head is hurting!! thanks.. Mark

first stereo i wired in crackled and cut out when volume was turned up

turned out to be two wires touching(speakers)

have you checked all the cables are

secure and no wire is exposed to metal?

wire touching sounds a good idea to me.try to power your unit by a single wire and conect red and yellow to the same wite. this will void though the worning when u turn the ignition off. make sure also that your connections are good that is to alow enought current to pass through power wires.
