Making a Home brew Parallel or 300* Fuel rail

Chopped up the standard rail and the very restrictive 5mm bore link

and made everything to 8mm inc bore

 

i'm going with the parallel route on this as thought it would be a better idea as both banks will give the same

amount of Fuel pressure and Flow Less chance of Leaning cylinders out

this is all so going to be used with a 320lph Pump from Deatschwerks In-Tank DW301 Fuel Pump

using a external fuel pressure reg

 

dose any one know the fuel pressures needed for say idle to top rpm ?

 

do u guys think its a good or bad idea ?

That pressure is compared to the Intake manifold pressure, so is relative to Boost pressure. 1 psi fuel pressure difference for every 1 psi of Boost/Vacumn.

 

So at idle when the Boost pressure is in vacuum it will be lower, at '0' boost it will be 43.4psi and as boost raises the fuel pressure increases.

make sure the pump is good for the amount of pressure and flow you want to run. As flow demand goes up, the amount of pressure that most pumps can sustain drops

no, it's not that simple, you have to check that it can keep up the flow rate at higher pressures. eg 20psi of boost = 63.4 psi fuel rail pressure to keep up

 

I expect it will be fine but just flagging so you know it's good for a turbo application and for other people reading about fuel pumps
