Well slowly making head way with project in between rain and more rain if only my garage was bigger !!

my next on list to sort is complete renewal of brake lines front and front to back and all hoses to calipers.

any body know of a ready made kit or cheaper to make my self or just get local garage to make up if take old corroded ones to them.

 

had a dam flood in drivers foot well couldnt find where coming from till found on here targa drain pipe an yippee there it was pipe off an flooding electrics and carpet !!!

Get yourself a brake pipe flaring tool, a reel of copper pipe and a box of fittings, make them yourself its is so easy and very cost effective, see pic below ebay item number: 300718220250 £20 BARGAIN

must admit been on there pricing it as you say and dont seem too pricey so cheers prob go with that route . any specific size copper pipe ?

I made all mine up replaced every pipe took 2 roles of copper pipe already had flaring tool ect, and about 10 3/16 male connectors to fit into the original female connectors then took a few hours of my time, real easy job

 

Of course you'll need brake fluid aswell, and either a bleeder kit or someone to give you a hand when it comes to bleeding them

If your doing all the pipes then you will need to drop the rear subframe a bit for access. Not a huge job but eats up a bit of time and it's still fiddly to get at the pipes and to shape them.

ahhhhh !! ok have to get her up in the air the weekend an have a look to see whats ahead ! lol cheers for that when im told easy it never turns out that way for me its usually a challenge .

 

but no hurry .

It looks a bit daunting when you first check it out, but if take your time and dont rush it it isnt that bad. Was just worried when it was stated as an easy job you would just dive in. I served my time as a bus mechanic have worked on cars, trucks and buses, and would never class a Z's brake pipes as an easy job. Put it this way lots of people have had crazy quotes from run of the mill garages because they see it as too big a job and dont want to do it.

 

Have a look at the work involved over the weekend, as stated it isnt as bad as it first looks. Exhausts off, disconnect the shocks and remove the 4 subframe nuts the frame will drop enough to gain access. There's always the forum to ask for advice :)

 

Took me 2 days to do the job lying on my back on the drive, but then that included me making up the pipes and having to stop to go out for more pipe

Ok so maybe not the easiest job in the world but not as hard as it looks, I already had my subframe off, do one pipe at a time so you remember where it connects to do t just start removing all the pipes at once, as your dropping your subframe slighty this is a good time to check the condition of the subframe bushes if they haven't been checked before
