Sqeaking noise

God damn car, lol, the bonnet cricket has come back, but its not that, its a different sound, a constant squeaking noise, sounds like its coming from behind the dash on the drivers side, but then the bonnet sound sounded like it was coming from the dash too frown.gif. It only happens sometimes, its really infuriating, any ideas what it is?

Thanx!

clarkey, try doing a search using my name and the word "rattle". i had the same probs and posted a thread on here sounds kinda similar. In the end i reckon it was the strut creaking due to the suspension being sightly out due to a split bush. Not positive but it aint creaked since the bush was fixed. id post a link to the thread, but im a dumbass and dont know how

Try loosening the two screws (Accessible once the hoods up!)that hold the panel down between the lights and pull in towards the front of the car while an assistant tightens it back down. This can give added clearence between the bonnet and the panel.

This is removed to replace the air filter and your friendly mechanic always puts it back on wrong.

I also suffered from tail gate squeaking. This is caused when the catch gets loose. You have to remove the rear plastic panel from inside the boot to get access to the bolts that hold the catch to the body. Once again, loosen these na dpush the catch down before retightening. You wont believe the noise difference you get with a good seal!

will try that one simon, sounds much cheaper wink.gif The paint on the back of the panel/front of the bonnet has all rubbed off leaving bare metal which aint very nice but theres nothingim gonna do about it, you cant see it unless you lift the bonnet anyway. Ive done the boot before, twice actually, will do it again though, one of the bolts got mashed up by somebody, cant imagine who wink.gif, so ill have to find a replacement bolt to fit in to make it more secure. I just today added loads of new eletrical tape to the bonnet catch to stop the bonnet cricket, I put so much on it was stiff to close, so it should be making much noise from now on wink.gif
