Safety Boost

Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether having a knackered battery would cause the car to operate in "Safety Boost"

Regards

wouldn't see how. Best thing is to do an ecu diag.

Thanks. ECU diags OK. Found what's changed.

Problem was not "safety boost" but the boost controller's been disconnected somehow when the car had it's alarm fitted. The boost now doesn't go as far as it used to. Looks about 9 PSI which I think is standard.

With the BCSV (Boost Control Solenoid Valves) disconnected from the ECU then max boost is 7psi. If you have a boost controller then it takes over the operation of these valves and can enable the raising of boost to whatever you want (until it goes BANG!). So if your boost controller was disconnected (and assuming it fails closed - I hope so!) then max boost should be 7psi.

Spot on Andy, Thanks for that info. It's all connected up again now and going rather fast...
