Me being impulsive, ive bought another toy.
I had a 318ti sport compact a few years ago in a px. Me being a massive Bmw fan, i took it, but it was too slow. I thought about putting a 328 engine in it, but reading into it and it was a pig of a job. It got sold on, then i bought my first M3.
I read a guys thread on the M3 forum, he was putting a 328 engine into a compact. He got it on up and running and decided it was going to be a track car.
All the interior trims are gone and it has 1 seat!
He said he's too busy to use it, so put it up for sale for £1250. Ive bought it.
Needs more to finish it that i thought. Still on the stanadard suspension and rear axle. The diff ratio is great, makes it really alive, but its not an LSD so spins up like crazy!
Brakes are not up to the task either.
Its such a fun car tho, really alive and fast. Weighs nothing too so should be great on a track once set up.
All ive done so far, is cahnge the wheels for some i had.
Plans are to fit an M50 manifold, this free's the flow up as they were restricted for emmisions. The 2.5 M50 manifold is said to free up 30bhp.
Suspension, i'll probably get a set of coilovers.
Rear axle on the compacts are the same as an e30 or Z3, so i should be able to pick an e30 325i axle with bigger drive shafts etc and LSD cheap enough.
M3 or e46 330 brakes should do the job well with it being much lighter than an M3.
I also plan to pain it. Haven't decided what colour yet, but ive got Imola Red in mind from an e36 M3 GT-II.

He's how i got it.
I test fitted my spare from the 7, the tyre was too big so wouldn't fit..
How it sits now.. Ive got BBS wheels to go on the back, but i test fitted them to the M3, and it was too rainy for me to want to take them off!
