Wheel/Tyre sizes (again, sorry!)

My car is a 1990 Jap auto (not the very first model apparently) and has 225 50(I think) 16s all round. Is this correct??

I've had various opinions on this and am still unsure. I want to get this right as I currently have awful handling in the wet.

Can I use UK rear wheels/tyres? Will this improve my traction at all??

Advice appreciated before it rains again...

For the Jap cars this is correct. First thing to check is that the tyres are uk ones (e marked). How long has the car been in the uk? Another thing could be worn rear shox...

Thanks Andy,

I think it's been here about four years. Have thought about the shocks, think they're OK though.

I put Dunlops on it two weeks ago a I thought it was the crappy tyres that were giving me probs - still exactly the same

PS. it seems it's the hicas lower links that got bent, hopefully getting them replaced tomorrow.
