Hi Dave,

I've got the same on my car. It seems that I've got some oil leaking onto some hot pipe but I can't trace it (the leak). It only seems to happen just after start up. If you figure it out I'd appreciate the info.

cheers,

Danny

could be just about anything from a burst pipe to head gasket to rocker .

i had this problem a few years back,ya oil flow when leaking does like to run down onto ya exhaust when starting up,this is where ya smoke is coming from!

check the highest place you can see oil running down from and you will have an idea.

hopefully it will be a burst pipe.jay

first off, crawl under the car and find out if its gearbox oil (redish), or engine oil thats driping out. my gear box was leaking oil onto the exhaust causing smoke to waft out from under the car, the box is now dead.

I know this sounds strange guys, but if you are struggling to find the source, try using brake cleaner to get rid of oil alreasdy there and then use talcum powder to see if you can get a trace.

Just a suggestion.

Passenger side turbo, oil feed pipe - on top between the exhaust and inlet housings. These are usually the culprits here - great fun to get to too!!! NOT!!! You may have a better chance of verifying this by removing the battery and all the crap thats strapped to the passenger side of the plenum...
