AM in the middle of fitting some baliey dumps and the blanking plates that replace the stand recs are refusing to go in any help tips?

Featured Replies

not sure what they look like but if its an insert into the old rubber pipe then try some wd40 or washing up liquid to help get the blanking plate in.

was no help. pipe is just old and rock solid :( might give bailey a call to see if they can get me some replacement silicone hose bits

If you can try warming up the hose with warm water should soften the rubber up a bit that's if you can get to it easy enought and then use washing up liquid

just done mine. get a jug of boiling water. leave black hose in it. place blank on floor, smear a little washing up liquid on rim of blank also. then push hose on using your weight . as mark derby said. its hard. you have to be all man when it comes to jobs like this mate!lol

It had been a long day trying to bring my punto back to life and then decieded why not crack on with something else after. Will get them sorted maybe tomorrow if not next week. When I said I would give baliey a call they are only based 3 miles from me and I know them quite well might have some 32mm pipe that I could pinch and use thats not 20+ years old.

Got them finally fitted today.

Replacement hose was a great idea 2 seconds to fit each side with no abuse shouted at it!

But could only get a meter minimum and used about 25cm now just have the rest laying around :(
