Some help needed if possible people :)

My daughter has a Ka and the bonnet release under the steering wheel has snapped on the one side (its the orangle coloured thing) Is there any way that I can get the bonnet open without using it? :)

A quick Google search seems to suggest its a common problem, there even seems to of been a recall for a modified one, be worth checking with your local Ford dealer to see if it missed the recall as it will be done free of charge if it did.

Other than that its a case of determining if the cable / handle has broken within the car or at the bonnet end, if in the car removing the under steering wheel trim should give access to the cable and a pair of pliars can be used to pull the cable correctly and open the bonnet, if at the catch end its a case of fiddling a screw driver through the grill in order to trigger the lever the cable normally pulls, and then once open a new cable needs fitting.

Good luck

Thanks Jeff. I think its definately under the steering wheel casing. Its a star shaped allen type bolt that needs undoing and my toolbox is in work! Typical. Will have a crack at it in the morning when its light. Cheers mate

Failing that mate - a bloody great pry bar under the bonnet and push down on it. That'll sort it :)
