where is the best place to get model car paint? my wife bought me a tamiya model 300zx that im going to build. wanting to have it siting in my living room when i get it built so can use black grey and purple for the colours. thinking of getting a really cool purple maybe a nice pearl? also is there anywhere i could get some new wheels for it?

normal matalic purple but not pearl ...

found a purple spray paint that i think i will use

 

but will need to get the other ones from you mark ie black red ect

dont use celulose based paints ... your kit will melt :)

is it the 1/24th scale tamiya kit? im in the middle of making a 1/10th scale nitro 300zx using a hpi rs4 chassie ebay is a good place for paint and bits

yes and its a soft plastic if u use cellulose paints ( car paint) it will melt

yeah but you can get a version of the same paint for painting on plastic models thats why i had said a pearl paint originaly

or can you get something that would be similar as the purple one i found was quite dark

I do have some other paints in will check colours look up fask colour I stock a range of that too they seem to have some nice strange ones

had a wee look they do a purple that may do the job also a chrome

it says to paint it chrome first the use Faskolor Faslucent Purple Paint to give a deep metallic candy effect

Pearl colours need a silver/chrome type base to get the effect

yeah that company do a chrome then that purple mentioned so think that should get the look im after. now just want other wheels lol
