blanking plates for DIN sockets

Hi,

Does anyone know if you can get a cover to blank off the second stereo DIN socket? (I think they're called DIN sockets...?) I've installed my boost controller there and what to keep prying scally eyes off it - I'm sure they wouldn't realise it's no use to them but it's shiny - f*ckin' magpies!!

Cheers!!

HKS make some lower DIN panels with holes for dials and/or controllers and I think one is a blank that does not have any holes in it at all.

PS - hope your rebuild is going OK...

But will this HKS DIN cover fit a Z DIN?

Stuart

I picked up a blanking plate at a car audio shop. It had a black plastic front with a screw hole in the front and larger piece at the back to grab onto the edges of the DIN hole. The screw is supposed to hold the two together.

It did not fit correctly, the front portion was too large to fit in the hole. I considered sanding off the edges to decrease the size of the front. But in the end instead of inserting it from the front, I glued it to the back. The end result looks fine, and had not come loose after two years.

The blanking piece cost less than a tenner.

yes it will fit, the HKS lower DIN panel is specifically made for the Z32. I was going to have one but decide I didn't want to lose the little cubby space.

Rob - the rebuild is finished. Collected the car on Thursday evening, running great. I thought the old engine was good but the new engine is so smooth. Keeping the boost to 1bar/14.5psi until the intercoolers and front spoiler vents are fitted and SE tune it for me. Still fast enough to blow away most of everything else on the road though.
