In my humble opinion, I'm not totally sold on the whole VH45DE conversions mate, I'm pretty sure 'Thor' offer these as package conversions and every one seems to be a bit underpowered for what it's potential should be (mostly around the 300-350bhp mark), though I could be getting confused with the old Lexus V8 conversion??

Thor does the Lexus V8 1UZ-FE swaps for Supra's and the like, but stock power is similar.

.....but why leave it stock ? Its all about potential and the thing is a beast - its considered the best engine Nissan ever made, possibly the best to come out of Japan. Versions of the VH were used in the 300zx le mans race cars and its sibling the VK more recently in the R35 GTR for racing. It was the engine Nissan had originally considered for the 300zx, but dropped it for the VG with concerns that a 4.5 litre V8 would scare of the public off, who might be concerned about running costs when competitors were opting for small turbocharged offerings at the time.

Just a remap, cams and headers will give a very healthy power increase, but you can turbocharge the thing for an easy 600+ on stock internals, or go the Race spec NA route for a high revving, responsive powerhouse. There are several 1000+ turbocharged/Supercharged versions of this motor running around too, and its used in various forms of Motorsport. Its all aluminum design even weigh's less than the stock VG.

....then there is the V8 sound and power delivery that a smaller 6pot can never compare to.
