Some of you know I've got a bobtail V8 Range Rover, its great fun off road but I rarely use it now, and the missus is fine with me selling it and getting another toy     so the question is, what do I replace it with?

Ideally, it will be something that fits in the garage. Marty got me looking at aerotop supras and stuff but cant really have one of those and a Z. So was thinking something classic/retro. Always been a fan of mk1 fiestas and had 7 of them in total, so thats an option. Mk2 XR2? Mk3 escort/XR3? Mk1 & Mk2 escorts are silly money now and probably too far out of reach. (should have bought that X-Pack Mk2 I saw for sale for £1500 a couple of years back :pinch:) also like old beetles/baja bugs.

I like the idea of something stripped out and caged up, wide wheels and very cool. dont suggest a saxo or corsa please. lol

I'm open to suggestions and lots of us like old retro cars so please fire some ideas my way!

haha a full on buggy is a bit of a nono, needs to be an all weather car at least lol.

thanks for the link marty never been on there, loads of cars to sift through!

saw an olive drab baja bug in lincoln last year and it looked amazing. really made me want one. but they are rear engined so a Z engine would be difficult. lol

I always said I would never have another RS turbo after the last moneypit pile of shit I had, but I do keep looking at them. Wouldnt mind a car that needs paintwork as I'd probably respray it if that was the case.

I think you'd enjoy the Capri, although they are a bit of a whale, they're a friendly one and I love them. :D

I always loved the MkII XR2, until it went up in flames :sob: They're somehow less chavy than the XR3i was too, but I can't explain how. Another thought, that I was personally having the other day, was either a MkII or a MkIV Golf GTi, very retro, good fun, easy to strip out and cage up, etc.

The Corrado was the G60 and the Polo was the G40, mental cars for fwd VWs, but both fwd unfortunately which is why I never bought one, even though I loved them and had friends with them etc.

capris are cool but quite long, actually saw one today and had a little thought in my brain about owning one as it drove past :)

golfs are fairly cheap to buy still and a 1.8T conversion aint rocket science anymore, sure conversion kits are probably off the shelf now.

you can also get the G40 supercharged engine out of the Polo and bolt it pretty much straight in, as either the MkIII or the MkIV (Can't remember which) is virtually the same chassis and engine bay as the polo :D
