Going sideways!!!

OOer! Had a nasty one this morning. Low speed (35-40ish) coming off a tight roundabout. Just started to put power down - very light, still -ve boost and the damn thing kicked round, scared the guy in the Peugeot in the outside lane half to death.

I'm sure there's something wrong here - OK it was wet, nasty, slippy wet but I don't expect any car to do that without putting some power through the back wheels...Put it this way, my Nova used to accelerate faster than that with no probs and sh*t tyres.

Any advice appreciated before I go and write it off....

TIA!!

RobH

PS I'm waiting for tie bar bushes as mine are sh*gged - could that be a factor??

could be , also check your rear shocks.

When they get old and buggered over time, you dont seem to notice to much , until its to late.

Don't think there was any diesel. Besides, it's happened in other locations too...

Which rear bushes Mark? Shock absorber??

Rob,

An old link you may wish to review: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/ubbforum/Forum1/HTML/001061.html

I remember a subsequent link which wondered whether some import speedo conversions affected the HICAS Speed Sensor reading, but you will have to search for this if interested.

Stillen produce locking plates for earlier models (hydrolic HICAS), and for later models (electric HICAS) you just need to take the fuse out, if you wish to disable the HICAS.

I don't think there were any conclusions. Alot of people think HICAS is first class. Others have had unusual hairy moments.
