My Daughter wants an I phone 4 but is currently tied to contract until next year.

 

My question is this......if she purchased a second hand one same mobile network can she just install her sim card??

You can cut it down - the chip is the same, just the size of the card differs...

 

If you don't want to do that, just phone up and tell them that's what you;re doing and request an iPhone sim - can't see why they wouldn't send you one, they'll still be billing her!

I did this with the wife's SIM when she went from the iphone 3 to 4. She wouldn't wait the 3 days for the micro SIM to arrive.

 

Make sure your duaghter has a data tariff otherwise it could get expensive.

Whats a data tariff? is that the 500mb per whatever to go on net??

I've got an iPhone 4s she will need some data allowance on her contract ie 500mb a month or whatever

 

How long till the apple vs android argument starts on this thread lol

If you can get a all you can eat data tarrif, 500meg a month wouldnt last that long as apps vary in size and can eat through that quite fast if you're not careful
