What did he do wrong??

Seems to be mixed opinions i've been told he gave it a squirt down the drag return road, but the video description says...

What seems to have happened is that the driver Steve Nogas was told he was disqualified for reason stemming back to his qualifying burnout (disobeying a fire mashal), he forced his car through a group of officials and on to the track, and after the burnout he was escorted from the track and his car towed away.

I don't think hes too fussed, hes from australia, load the car up and take it home lol... although american laws they may seize it or something stupid saying he tried to kill marshalls...

Reality is he just wasn't going to bow to america and its iron fist.

What did he do wrong??

Okay guys, this is a very controversial topic. Here's the unedited footage of the Steve Nogas incident.

Could have been handled a little better from both sides, but forcing your way on to the track is definitely the wrong way to go.

I've posted this video to provide a little clarity to the incident.

basically in his qualifying burn out he got told to shut his car down as it was on fire, he ignored the fire Marshall and proceeded to do his run which he was then disqualified for, this was the incident that occurred after, he forced him self onto the tract to do burn outs and then was dragged out by security.

Problem here, is that he defied the fire marshal, had his car blown up after disobeying and people got injured / killed im sure we would all be saying hes a tosser.

I think he was basing it off principle, i've had run ins with scrutineers before giving me hell about things that just dont matter because thier mates didnt want me on the track with them.

that might be the case, but having worked at SantaPod, and my mrs dad still works there, if someone is told to shut down, its purely for safety measures and he should of respected that simple as to be honest, bit selfish of him not to do as told IMHO, its a motor sport and he should of acted a bit better than that when lives are at risk.

Hes in side the car, they are outside, they have a event to run and the safety of their spectators and customers come first over the ego of some dude sitting in his car.

I think he kind of proved his point though, the car didn't go up in a massive ball of flames....

I think your missing the point. its to do with safety, people shouldn't be gambling with other peoples lives, large groups of people + a car on fire, id call that concern for safety.

Sorry matey, but had the car gone up in flames and injured or killed someone, i doubt people would be praising him, also had the fire marshals done nothing to stop him and something like that happened, im sure the organisers wouldn't be holding any events right now as they try to figure out why no one said anything to him.

By ignoring the fire marshal, all he did was show how much of a plank he is, it was not very mature what he did and shouldn't be praised or encouraged.

Can't see the video on my phone but I know this is something controversial that I would like :)

There is another vid that apparantly shows the scrutineers were mistaken, he had not disobeyed any rules or instructions by a fire Marshall on his previous run. Some sort of miscommunication, that was not handled well on both sides.

Either way..that security guard is a d1ck. Kicked his car at the beginning ! and shoved him when he finished.

The Engine in that thing is a beast.

@chbunyips

When I talked to Steve he said he wasn't going to post the go pro footage at the moment because it would just inflamed the situation on both sides. The situation has been basically resolved to the satisfaction of both parties now and they're moving on.
