Hi all,

With a number of high powered Zeds on the forum im wondering if you can give me some sort of idea in what im going to expect trying to get the car off the line quickly say at a 0.60 sprint or pulling out a junction quickly. Also how they handle when laying down the power though the gears?

Im wanting to replace the hatch with a Carbon one hopefully! Im just thinking what extra problems it could give me being so much lighter at the rear as the hatch is so heavy and is practicly the whole rear of the car. Im guessing cornering will be an issue too.

I think ive bought every uprated mod possible to gain the extra traction but not sure once taking the weight away if they would be much use?

What do you think?

Im hoping to achieve around 550-600@ the fly.

Thanks Dan

I have had RLTC on for years - its the best mod I have ever done!!!

its nothing like a factory TC system & sticking it on 15-20% will let the rear and slide out but keep it from wiping out completely when a poor road condition catches you out!!

In the wet it makes the car far safer to drive!!

That's the reason I bought mine, already lost one zed due to a spin that caught me out. Don't want to do that again..

Im not a fan of TC and never will be.takes the fun factor and the skill out of driving. your right foot is the tc and thats that imo

Have you driven a car with Racelogic TC???

Trust me - you can dial in the fun you want while keeping a safety margin - in fact you could probably still lose it when turned right up!!

You can configure the cut tables to suit your driving & how fast it cuts in - you can change how much slip you get in a straight line compared to how much you get when cornering.

Its the nuts & anyone that says otherwise probably hasnt experienced it! LOL!

I prefer having control but still having that safety factor - how much is completely adjustable too!!

no tbh i havnt. only in stock cars. but if i did it would be switched off

Like i said its what your right foot is for. if you are losing it in a bend etc you are asking to much of the car.

Its the nani state thing

nah - we drive high powered cars - once tuned they tend to have far quicker reactions than we do LOL! Once in a while when you drive enough it will catch you out! (yup - I know, speaking from experience here! )

Its a great system that inspires confidence & personally I love it

Each to their own however - personally I dont like fibreglass body kits :innocent: :x:

Men who wear sock suspenders have traction control FACT  My right foot does all those functions. And its served me well in cars up to 550hp with the same torque in wet and dry conditions.Traction control is like a low boost setting on an EBC,who the the feck uses that ? ive never switched my profec B to that EVER !!

LOL!! I would even know what sock suspenders are, you obviously do!! :tt2: do Tein make a set??

To be honest you have surprised me Jimmer - I would have thought you would have praised a RLTC system. Dont know why as I have never even met you LOL!

Still - I like mine, even without this sock suspension techno babble

I drove mine through snow and everything on almost slicks lol!!! and never really had a problem untill i couldnt get up a hill lol!!!!

I dont know what your like as a driver so i cannot comment but you might not be good on the limit. I dont know??

Every driver has diffeant abilitys.

But i personally cannot see the point. not with the power our cars are pushing out. maybe 500hp and beyond yeah. but it still comes down to how much power you let it have via your foot lol!!!

If you drive it everyday you should really know your car and every charecteristic about it.

Is that fiberglass on your boot?? tbh im with you on that i hate the stuff aswell

im pissing myself here mate :lol::lol: sock suspension Lol.I think rltc is great if you feel safer with it cus it saves the driver fishtailing and hitting me in my car, each to their own Paul as long as you like it mate :gunsmilie:

No - I had it crafted from Mahogony - was thinking about having it varnished instead of painted to show the grain of the wood.

Oh, hang on - am sure this is going to provoke some more sock suspension comments LOL!!:lol:

do trainer socks mean you have lowered sock suspension?! :clown:

I like controlling something so far out of control that's why I go on mad builds. its ok though I haven't had a zed before I've been on other cars but I don't think anyone from here has seen me before :)

Unless you plan on drag racing id leave the traction control alone, funny though how you have built the car then ask what the traction will be like, you,ll soon find out when its going and it will be a hard lesson if your not adapt at taming powerful cars, any zed after 400hp gets quite unpredictable and will step out when provoked at any time. Its something youll need be aware of and catch it quick when it does, with time youll get used to spinning the rear wheels at 60 mph + and get a handle on it.Get the widest and best rear tyres you can afford is my best advice,You will still have problems though,a Lambo with less power will ber running 345,s so your still fighting a loosing battle

The reason I'm asking people what its like because I've yet to drive mine. And thought it would be a idea to ask people with high bhp of there experiences with that sort of power before making the rear lighter and possible worse to drive. Lots of people have more knowledge and experience than me on here so thought I'd take advantage before I make an expensive mistake!

It's all about tyres and setup, we corner weight everything we build from race XR2s to full ex works touring cars and rally cars, you also set the car up for the job it's doing, straight line sprints and tracks and hill climbs.

Adjustable shocks give you so many options but it's not a case of bolting them on and setting them the same, corner weights are so important!!!

Setup is the answer and if you are using rose joints its all about setup.

You use computer controlled scale pad under each wheel and using the adjustable platforms and adjustable anti roll bars set the weights as evenly as possible under each tyre, the most important weights are front left to rear right and front right to rear left.

but what do you mean by weights. do you add them?? i dont understand how you would make one heavery and the other lighter?

Adjustable susspension has platforms you can wind up and down for ride heights which are also massively important, once you set the ride heights you then can make small adjustments to set how much pressure each tyre puts on the ground balancing the setup.

That's what the scales are for.
