electric butchery

this is the second time ive posted about this, 5 zeds and some of the most shocking and downrightly strange electric butchery of all 5 of them? seriously i cant understand it?

Just tried to fix my non intermittent wiper issue with the control module that Jeff sent me that arrived today, and to say the wires to the control module were butchered is no exaggeration and im surprised that they even work, spliced wires for no apparent reason, a earth cable that likes to spark even with the ignition off using one of the bolts the modules bracket bolts to the car with that disappears somewhere for no apparent reason and no apparent use? its not part of my dials, cluster or gauges, i can only guess that its coming from the back of the fuse box in the foot well somewhere.

Think i might have to start collecting harnesses and at some point rewire the entire car, why cant people just leave fuse boxes to people who can do a decent job?

So anyway, changed the control module and wow what a guess, nothing changed...

When I stripped my interior and dash out I ended up rewiring most of the car, bloody scotch locks everywhere and the alarm christ i just ripped it out what a joke, At least now I know everything is tidy cable tied secured and new lol+

We've been through this too, Roses car particularly had mountains and mountains of wire, that was not needed, her wipers packed up completely one night on the way home from a meet in the rain, we never found the fault, took half the dash apart, put it all back together and as if like magic they began working again :confused1: The Grey Z hasn't been THAT bad, but Rose did have to 'adapt' the alarm wiring because it was ridiculous and I've had some fun with the ignition wiring because it's had so many things chopped into it over the years it's in a right mess. We know it had a snooper, we know it's had turbo timers (Because the appropriate wires were pre-spliced when I came to fit the one we have now), we know it's had a boost controller at some point, etc. etc. It's ridiculous.

hoping i win the lottery, ill commission someone to make me a aluminum chassis for it, get all brand new wiring looms and rebuild the damn thing my self by hand and get nice tailored interior lol (ooh and a JUN engine build)

But in the mean time considering recent events i should be in for a move next year so hope to get a house with a drive or at least back garden parking, if that happens the cars getting stripped to the bone and im going to rewire the whole thing.

Don't blame you mate, at some point I'm planning on something similar for the Grey Z now it's not a daily driver. Problem is I have a hard enough time convincing myself to get out there in winter to work on it, let alone convincing myself to render it undriveable in summer whilst stripping it, lol :D

well i need a new ISO harness for a OEM stereo as at the moment, even if i wanted to remove the carputer, i wouldn't be able to go back to a normal car ICE system due to the terrible wiring hack someone did on it, then I've got to get a new side mirrors wiring loom as well (thats going to be fun to install) as the other one was chopped and when i rewired it, it shorted and starting filling the cabin with smoke, so had to do what had already been done and cut the wires again. need to get a S2 duel electric seat harness, as although i put a live and neg feed for my electric passenger seat, the drivers seat is still taking its power from the 12v feed of the ciggy lighter socket but its been butchered in that bad, ive had to rewire it so it didn't set alight to the car, and add a fuse in line as well just to be extra careful.

Someone had wired in a Japspec foglight at some point on a UK car, but have managed to wire in using the original harness a rear foglight into the reverse cluster, as at least i can use the FOG light button on the dash pods now.

And i still need to sort out my S2 PTU and wire that harness direct to my main engine ECU.

Arrgghh!

I was lucky with my UK, apart from dodgy looking injector connectors that had been bodged in the bay, all the wiring was as it's supposed to be and everything works as should.

As for my JDM, well...........
