well its been 30mins since i did the block test kit and guess what?

attachment.php?attachmentid=61936&stc=1&d=1323439899

it stayed blue

this is the kit i got

http://www.uktools.com/block-tester-p-12508.html

Tests in seconds for:

Cracked Blocks

Leaky Gaskets

Cracked Heads

Warped Heads

When Fluid Turns From BLUE TO YELLOW Combustion Leak is Present.

well its still blue...

so what on earth is causing my overheating issue.

The car has only ever reached 127degrees once. all my testing I've never let the car get higher than 105 as I've shut the engine down once it approaches 100c

So im now stumped

But im glad its not a blown head gasket.

Outstanding news mate! Well pleased for you!:thumbup1:

Where did they insert the high pressure hose to blast the system? Through the thermostat pipe?

P.S. Told you my money was on it being blocked (well I was right on half the problem lol)

quite a few locations, we used a high pressure airline to not only pressurise the system, but also to help the flow, we did both pipes of the heater matrix, that cleared out loads of crap, we ran it through the rad, both rad hoses. then did it with a partially closed system, going in through the water pipe at the back of the engine.

i have bottle of flush to go in on Saturday next week, then on Sunday we are going to give it another hose pipe flush and get everything out thats in it till the water runs clean

Need to get another Temperature ECU sender though, still think its giving false readings as my after market gauge is about 10degrees lower than it when fully up to temp.

I'm looking for the I told you so smilie...........Glad you got it fixed bud, nice to know people with a recovery truck and racing equipment eh? :D

Looks like its sorted mate:thumbup1:

may be me being paranoid but ill consider it sorted once ive driven it for a week with no heating issues lol

took the car over mrs dads today, pulled on to his drive, and the temp started raising. so turned it off. fecking pipe at the back of the engine had split. is there anything with the cooling system on this car that isnt going to fecking fail?

So one new pipe later and another bleed and refill, drove it back.

really getting annoyed with this now.

might be a blessing the pipe went now and not on a long run. More than likely was weakened with the pressure from the blast out. i had the same happen on my chevy engine.

by the looks of it, may have even been the cause of the over heating, it wasn't a small split and no doubt may have been letting air back into the system, it was the small pipe that bridges my turbo bypass with the heater matrix pipe.

That's the 3rd pipe on my heating system thats failed now, and 2 of those were brand new. doubt it was weakened due to the cleaning process, more likely weakened due to overheating.

Airlocks blow hoses, the air gets heated to really high temps and expands then blows the hose.Your a patient bloke i gotta say Ian,that must be driving you bonkers.

You dont know the half of it lol

naa, i just crack on till its either fixed or f**ked lol

only so much you can change before its a brand new car :)

it was one of the 20 year old pipes matey from the looks of it, it had started to go some time ago but held on for a while longer till today, stoopid really should of changed all the hard to reach pipes when i had the chance when the engine was out. was just too busy focusing on getting the turbos on the engine at the time.

You dont know the half of it lol

I will heed this warning when I get mine out. How does the price of a set of silicon cooling system hoses compare to rubber ones?

They are not much dearer and should never need changing again.Anthonyd on here works for sfs and offers hoses at great prices.
