Anybody work/ have any contact in a Saw Mill?

I need to price up a fairly large, and ongoing job, but so far quotes haven't been forthcoming so I thought I'd try on here...

 

It's basically to supply components for pallet construction, initially enough to produce 250/ day. The pallets will be single use within UK, so ISPM15 doesn't apply, meaning the timber won't require heat-treatment or fumigation.

    Do you have to make them yourself? I have a contact for a guy in wolverhampton who specialises in making bespoke pallets, might work that you make yourself a margin?

    The problem is the sheer volume required - 70,000 per year minimum... at the moment they are delivered daily to cover the outgoing deliveries, but costs are escalating rapidly so it now makes financial sense to invest in a pallet making machine as it would pay for itself within 2 years, even quicker if we offer them for sale to 3rd parties.

     

    I can't imagine a specialist being able to even match the prices of a national supplier?
