Fuel Pipe Spec

At last I've found the source of the delicate aroma of perol that fills my Z every morning!!

 

What's the spec. for the rubber fuel line between the fuel filter and the fuel rail. Is there any significance to the odd looking outer layer with all the holes and is itreally necessery to use those naff screw type fuel clips instead of jubilee clips
