Funny you've got the old Fords in your head.

Just today, my brother showed me a Mk2 Xr2 on ebay. Looked mint too..

Must be something in the water.

yuk looks like someone spewd up a new charger n put a ford badge on for good mesure

dont get me wrong loved the capri's but that is...howd you say in french f00kin stinkin

If they have the balls to make it RWD it may do well.

But im willing to bet they will go FWD and it will flop like the probe and cougar.

they wont do it and if they do it wont be retro enough, it will be like the cougar. they did threaten to bring out a new transam which would make sense based on the whole camero firebird relationship but general motors have killed of pontiac. :( poor shame

the photoshopped camaro looks the business.

My first ever car Mk2 1.6GL Capri red with black vinyl roof and love to see a new one back in production

Same for me Gaz but mine when I was 17 was a blue 1.6S R plate, loved it and paid £425.00, my next car and I was probably 18 was also a Capri but a 2.0 Ghia, loved it even more and cost me about £1500, this was a V plate in green  Great trim on the old Ghia's.

Did look into buying a Brooklands or a 280 but TBH I don't like them anymore for me to buy one for nostalgic purposes

A lot of ex Capri owners on here mate I had several Capri's my last was a black 1987 2.8i with factory fitted Xpack.I was a member of Capri Club International and me and another member with a turbo capri went to Capri Mania in Birmingham both our Capri's feature in there official video of the event:thumbup:

To be honest thet dont have a lot to live upto if they do a new model.

Remove the rose tinted glasses and you have to admit that Capri's were shite.

No matter what model you had handling was crap even the 280 just sat on the drive plotting how it eas gonna kill you on the next drive to the shop.

Its an old Ford Mick and in its day we loved them, yes the back end would not sit on the road in a corner and like all Fords they would rust very quickly but they where bought in there millions and still love today with Capri clubs all over the UK, plus dont forget the racing Capri's and Jochen Mass in the group 5 Zakspeed Capri all in all a its a epic ford:thumbup: Hows your Alpina Mick its a great car to:biggrin:

Yeah it OK for a BMW

I know what you are saying its a nostalga thing I mean I have built 2 Yamaha FS1E's  I just eally did not like Capri's (If they make the orange one above count me in:thumbup1:) Now give me a 1985 white RS Turbo and I'm ya man:punk:

I miss my black 2.8injection and the white 2.8injection I had a few years later, I'd buy another tomorrow if I had the spare cash. The secret to getting a capri to handle, was buy one with knackered leafs on the back, then it sat lower, had more weight on the back end and it stuck like glue. It looked better stance wise too.

I am now seriously considering buying another black 2.8, thanks a bunch Jeff!!!!!!

@Gary, black 2.8 with Factory XPack, like this?

lol mine handled realy well after id "fixed" it lol by stuffening it up and lowering it. it mostly undeersteerd interestinly. and over steer was well abit of a handfull. lol

I had a Capri :thumbup1:

Brilliant in the summer, not so great in the winter.......... old Fords don't seem to like starting in the cold! And now to the pic' whoring....

God how I miss that car though :( I've never seen another with such tidy bodywork (that isn't some sort of show car!)

There is a 230bhp turbo technics one on ebay now.
ive got one :D @HollowPoint,,the picture there shows a double x pack, available from fibresports, the original fordRS xpack didnt have sideskirts or the nosecone.

Edited by Ady682

Oooooh any chance of a piccy? I love X-Pack'd capris. Never did get round to fitting the kit to mine :(

no mate ,no xpack on mine, the one ive got is a turbo technics converted 1982 'y reg '2.8i,the only RS bits are the wheels and a rubber twin level 'turbo tail' spoiler on the boot lol,it been garaged/hidden away since 1997 but when i was using it daily,my mate had a 4x4 cossie sapphire and it was holding its own against it,very fast. The xpack was sold through ford RS acessories. That 'double xpack' was a project car by Custom car magazine (1987 or 88)who comissioned fibresports to build it,they then produced/sold the kit to the public. :)

Well I never knew that.

Mine was an 84 2.8i started out sky blue, when I got it, it was black at the front, red at the back, with a Cosworth "whale tail". I had it painted entirely black and did remove the whale tail for a while, but then decided it really did do something for the handling (Mostly the weight of the bloody thing I think) and that I actually loved it, so put it back on, lol.
