Hi Guys,

Not Zed related but somebody on here will have an answer.

Was looking to get the car remapped, probably using somebody like Celtic Tuning http://www.celtictuning.co.uk. They reckon car will go from 23bhp to 290bhp, also massive increase in torgue.

Whilst fishing around for prices, one Guy also does boxes which simply plug in. he reckons I will get a 30% increase in bhp in aggressive mode. it has 3 modes for torgue and 3 modes for bhp. http://www.energytuning.co.uk

Change cars you unplug the box and get it set for your new motor.

What do reckon???

Of course Im doing it for the fuel economy:wink:

Ive looked a couple up and they are all down South.

Found a couple local but their claims on what the bhp will be varies bramatically, ie 280 and 300. If I thought he could 300bhp out of it I would go tomorrow.

:whistling:

Yes, more torque low down so will initially out-drag a e60 M5. However, once the V10 gets into it's stride it's a different ball game. Perhaps my initial wording was a bit misleading - apologies for that. One of my former suppliers had a M5 and she was very surprised by how well the 535d accellerated - questioned her wisdom of having forked out for the M5 ...

Interesting..

do you remember where you got the sequence data from?

I find the gearbox jerky, just thought it was the style of car..

did you remap the 530d? what was it like? worth doing?

Here you go...

http://forums.5series.net/topic/40018-the-hold-down-accelerator-for-25s-trick-for-smoother-shift/

I never had it remapped, a friend of mine had a new 330d done and it is very rapid for an oil-burner!

I'd have a look through bimmerforums - not been on there for ages, but there are plenty of threads & recommendations...

The only thing I'd be wary of is I had the turbo go on mine - forget about long interval servicing and do an extra oil change in between services!

Mine made a distinctive clunk! You need to press and hold the kickdown switch for it to work... if it has reset, you should notice it straight away.

What do you mean when you say kickdown switch?

I just held the throttle to the floor? Am I having a blonde moment?

You've definitely got an auto haven't you? If you put your foot to the floor, then press a little bit more you'll feel a click - which drops the box 1-2 gears depending on speed.

My beemer feels a little better although I didnt hear any noises when I did the reset. Its in for an MOT on Monday so will ask the Guys just to check.

My wifes ML with the filter and the ecu feels much better, smoother. its had a remap and believe its running about 200 brake. so in a tank hard to tell a big difference.. lol..

Its the ML270CDI, weve had it 8 years now, bought it when it was 3 fully specced. I look after my cars but it has 125000 miles on. tows a caravan, I sea fish so have been known to take it onto beaches and all sorts and it is superb. had to spend bits on it at times but owes us nothing. We keep looking at new ones and then think well its a workhorse and change our minds...

Ours rolls a bit, whereas the new ones Ive driven dont.

With it being a moving brick, I would get it remapped straight away if I do change..

What model are you buying? think I read your thread not so long ago?
