I was told that they all tend to wear a bit on the inside fronts, I know ours has had a a couple of front sets on it and the inside was warn more. If your getting a lot of wear (and you checked the pressures etc.) you'll need to get the tracking done - but get it done right! e.g. performance specialist, as there is quite a few adjustments that can be made rather than a 'track rod end' at the local garage!

The only big problem is that they can't adjust Camber. It is best that they are close as possible to 0 degree because even just within tolerance they wear too much on the inside. In this case you must use camber correction plates (and offcorse: longer bolts) or go for the adjustable upperlinks (but they are VERY expensive).

Thanks for that, but where do i go to get it performance checked???other than the large tyre outlet places smile.gif (Birmingham area)

I found that most tyre fitment places will be put off the 300, some will max out at doing the tracking and that seems to be a challenge for them to get right. The best place I found locally is Jeff Fowkes in Ibstock. They have the equipment, experience and does a good job. They did mine before the camber plates were fitted to correct massively excess negative camber on mine. Give me an email if you end up needing the plates making up, I have a contact who can do it or you could order them from www.eatrice.com.

I'm getting heavy front wear but after an alignment last year it's almost all on the passenger side.

The rear drivers side spring has sagged by about 1.5" - I can fit 3 fingers between tyre and arch on the passenger side but only 1 on the drivers side.

Could this affect it if the car is "leaning" down at one side?

Any spring sag will cause uneven wear. Dont forget that the wheel does not move up and down, but in face moves in a slight arch so if the ride is too high or too low it will cause uneven wear unless its been compensated by adusting the camber.

I have now replied to all emails on the subject of the camber plates I have had made up and fitted by Coop Nissan in Burton on Trent. I will post a price for the plates and fitting as soon as I get my bill through from them. But I definately felt the difference in handling afterwards so must have been getting used to it.

These Camberplates you referring to are very simple (and expensive) ones. In this case you can't realy adjust the camber rather than correct the camber when using 0.8" lowering springs. I myself use a kit with different camberplates so you can adjust the camber a lot in very little steps (necessary when having wear or little damage in suspension). They are cnc-machined and were a lot cheaper too. Please contact me if you are interrested.

I'm interested in your "adjustable" design.
