I've been trying to get to the Isle of Wight all year, but a combination of trashy weather and other commitments has not made this possible.

However, summer has finally arrived (October?) and I'm planning to go this Saturday.

Does anyone know of any great spots for car photos? I know it sounds sad but I'd love to take photos of the Z in a perfect spot with the sea in the background, great elevation etc.

I'm hoping some of you guys will know where to go!

Thanks.

speak to groover... he lives there, i'm sure he would welcome a fellow zedhead over there.

the needles was the place to go when we went a few years ago. we all stayed on a camp site and had a good laugh although i took a range rover and not a zed ;-(

 yeah and irene reversed into marcos car :sweatdrop:

Scotty is also on the island but haven't heard from him in a while, tbh it's nice to just drive around and find spots, there is a carpark on the cliff top which overlooks the cliff on the south side which is lovely but it's slowly falling into the sea lol

and anybody speak to jammer on the island havent heard from him in years. I went over and did his clutch on his drive with legrath ;-)

I'm on the Island and have the following recommendations:

For a good backdrop of trees, Parkhurst forest is a good bet.

For a backdrop of the sea with high elevation then Culver Down near Bembridge is good as is Alum Bay.

Compton for a more rugged sea backdrop.

For chocolate box type backdrop Winkle Street, Godshill, Brighstone, fair well.

Bembridge Harbour or Yarmouth harbour make for good shots too as would Cowes seafront or even Shalfleet.

Haven't seen Jamo since Vestas closed down (we both worked there). Fairly certain he doesn't have his Z anymore.

Think someone told me it had gone to Jersey........?
