Ive been a VMA since i was 18 lol if you go Bassingbourn for phase one i know all the staff there

my biggest regret was and is not going into the armed force's when i left school, i alway's wanted to but didnt have the ball's to do it, alway's fancied being a sniper, growing up near field's and using air rifle's was something i loved

greatest respect bud

what the best job youve had n been proud of

any advice on the basic training weeks

I'm sure you'll love it mate, you'll be a different person by the time you leave no doubt.

Good and bad, it's all part of the ride. WDW

ive done mastiff and am a mastiff driver great fun. Best bit is getting away from the REME and working detached on your own i did alot of tour with infantry companies

I would offer one piece of advice though bud and that's simply stick to your guns (no pun intended) and head down the career path that you want to go down.

Don't let any recruiting desk jokey sell you a bum steer

ie. if you want to be a sniper in Para reg then stick with it join Para reg and be a sniper, don't let some numpty BS you into believing that if you want you can be a signaller or medic etc and simply transfer after basic training yada yada....it doesn't work like that

If you want to be a mechanic and work on MBT's, Mastiffs etc then stick with it and make sure that you start week one, day one on the right path

and if all go's well you'll be in sunny Afghan next year earning good money to spend on your zed = win/win :thumbup1:

Nice one mate, as above could be in Afghan like me know LOL. Its great really.

If you get Pirbrite for basic training it might be me on the training team as I'm hoping for posting there.

There you go mate, get the crow to polish your plenum instead of giving them a show parade!
