Moderator team and committee members could man it :D

whats wrong with just using this forum. We dont need all that other rubbish.

But we have the other rubbish, so we should either use it, or not have it, I think is the point.

Exactly. Not sure how "official" any of them are anyway. There are a zillion 300zx pages on FB as it is anyway, and Twitter is just pointless.

@300zxcouk is advertised as a sticky post by Kim on this site. Pretty offical I'd say

Well we know theres a lot of Z owners out there not on the forum still. Social media can be hard to maintain to a level where you get any benefit. I just suggested a free tool and a way to make it much easier.

if they are active Internet users in UK, and they are not on this forum....its not because they've not discovered it.

Yep, the whole point of the forum is to put posts etc up, twitter does the same thing, so really its completely pointless. Most people only have a twitter feed because its companies who dont have forums.

OK ... so I have found the most ANTI-social forum for 300's on the web

Twitter doesnt do the same thing - have you tried having a conversation on twitter with a maximum of 129 chars lol.

How on the Hell is this the most ANTI-social forum? So explain to me why Twitter is SO much different? If everyone goes posting on Twitter about this club then what is the point in these forums?! All of the replies would be over there and this forum would die, due to lack of posts. I.E. Pointless... Why do you think the forum's doesn't have a chatbox? Do your research before saying this is a anti-social owners club, there is a long thread on this forum saying why they never wanted / installed a chatbox.

+1

you just have to see "the other site" to know that a chat box kills the forum, amongst other things

we have a live chat room, tried it a few times and had quite a laugh, but ultimately, nothing you can not say in here anyway

re-read it, but in English,

a) she has a smilie at the end of the sentence, indicating it was a joke

b) she is making a reference to Social media and that so far everyone who has posted here is against it

FFS I dispair some times!

doh - logged in as wrong user haha

Well this particular site isn't exactly at the top of the search results and social media helps.

Not sure what your searching on but Its all over the top of the search results if I type "300zx", 1st in the list on google

If this wasn't such an established, easy to find and well known site within the z community.....and it wasn't an active Forum, then absolutely - Social networking sites have their place for advertising and providing Information to users about whats going on.....but that's not really the case here.

The FB, Twitter...etc 300zx Pages already exist, If somebody wants to make time to update these sites, then fine but I just feel that really we don't need lots of updates about this site on other sites. If I want to know whats new...I hit the new posts button. (about 40 million times a day:blush:) :p

No harm in using the FB and Twitter feeds for things like Upcoming Regional Events Notifications (Jae..etc) , but anyone that's a member of the 300zx pages on those social sites....is already a regular member here anyway.

Sorry it came across so negative, its good that your pro-active towards the club, and no harm in using these other social network sites, I just dont believe they provide the same benefits to an Active forum that they do to other companies and groups that use them for this purpose.

I conclude

The opinion of this thread is to basically shut down any mention of the club on all social networking sites, especially the biggest in the world such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, may as well block the Googlebot while you are at it. Shut down all the things that works for Millions of sites worldwide, and grow some tumbleweeds.

:p :D

If somebody wants to make time to manage these sites, or if you would like to Volunteer yourself and the Comittee are ok with that, then cool....I just personally dont believe they are of much benefit to the Club to warrant extra work.

If there are Active Internet users who own a 300zx in the UK, and they are not on this site.....its not because they are not aware of it.

Things like the Club window flyers and adverts in jap car magazines is a great way to attact 300zx owners who are not regular Internet users though, and would not normally be on Forums and Social network sites.

twitter....is a posh persons facebook isnt it !! personaly i hate social networking sites where the establishment can use the information freely posted on there for criminal procedings as and when required......facebook caused far too many rows and fall outs as you cant see peopes expressions or body language on a chat box and things do get taken out of context quite often .....for me facebook and twitter have their roll in society no doubt but not in mine i will just stick to the forum .....its more peacefull ...and i dont have to send free virtual pies to a fellow cafe world member cos he needs a new super cooker or some such tosh :)

Reading it all back....I think this topic may have been blown out of proportion by all of us. :x:

I have to say, what a load of nonesense :scared:

Anyone who knows anything about tumbleweeds, will know they need a hot, arid environment to grow. AND, tumbleweeds are actually dead varieties of plants which were once alive - so you can't physically grow tumbleweeds (in the same way you can't grow a dead a person). You could however, grow something that would eventually (after eons of time) turn into a tumbleweed. Carbon dating suggests that tumbleweeds are infact older than most dinosaur remains and could, possibly, be the oldest dead things ever invented.
