cat temp sensor light

Ive recently bought my self a Jap import 300zxtt which drove perfectly the day i bought it (as they do), but since then ive had a few probs with it, the worst is this sensor light which comes on sometimes if i put my foot down resulting in the car juddering and horrible to drive (only firing on 5). Its booked in next week, any idea how big a prob this is gonna be? cheers

It just might be very simple. Check over the security of the coil and injector connections, plus the cleanliness of the contacts. If a cylinder is misfiring due to a bad coil connector then the unburnt fuel burns in the cat and sets the warning light off.

Totally agree with Andy. Raz had the same problem and cleaning all the contacts sorted it out. I think it ended up being the ptu contacts. Give it a go first cos Nissan wanted to charge him £900.

I had the plugs done recently to hopefully solve the problem, but it didnt. So its booked back in for closer examination. Its going to Dragon autosports in Colchester which a mate recommended(£35ph aswell)

it really is an easy job to clean the coil packs and ptu. Probably take you about 1/2 -1 hour. Go on give it a go, you know you wanna..................
