Fitting boost controller

Can anyone tell me. what pipes i need to Tee into and maybe a simple diagram.

do you ditch the 2 solinoids and just use the new one??

Featured Replies

ditch the safety solenoids

take the pipes from the wast-gate actuator ( both turbos )

T them together and then to Controller Solenoid unit

then the 2 Vent outputs of the controller solenoid unit go back to the Boost pipe holes either side of the Rad just under the top pipe i think

u need to T them pipe together as well

then u need to take a Vac line from the balance bar or T in to another one .. then back to the Controller solenoid unit

I'm sure that's how its done its kinda hard to explain pics do better

Why not just use your right foot a little less severely as required ?

Right ditch the solinoids

wastegate T into the new solinoid.

It only has one outlet so shall i T this and into the pipe under the hardpipe. guessing this is the simple way to you did??

Not sure what you mean in red. the solinoid only has one in and one out. its a really simple ebc.

Or do you mean a boost pipe to the controller??

errrm im increasing boost

Well what I meant was you could have Boost jets and a rechip to have max boost available all the time and just back off a bit if it's damp or slippery

Thing that worries about boost controllers is having it set wrong when you don't realise it is..... Like needing full power to get out of trouble and boost is turned down or being on a dodgy surface and thinking it's turned down and it isn't and spinning into the barrier or something

Far better to have full boost all the time and choose how much of it you use

My own opinion of course

You can have multiple boost modes, but most people with Boost controllers set their max boost and leave it, just like Boost jets.

Except compared to boost jets you get Quicker boost spoolup, no boost spikes and consistent boost in all temperatures.

As well as a Built in boost gauge and buttons....Mmmm..buttons...

This is a good diagram

it shows the pipe going to the little pipe under the hard pipe but only on one side. so do i just blank off the other one??

Is there anything i need to blank off when doing the above. like from the stock solinoid to the waste gate??

I just cannot figure it out and i know its going to be really easy and a 10min job just want to make sure :wack:

This is the stock set up i have at the min. can anyone please photoshop on this what i need to do and what needs to be blanked off or what ever

You can just cap it off (which is what that pic is recommending), or you can T them together.

There is about 3 gazillion Boost controller fitting guides for the Z out there if your stuck. The Aus300zx.com tech section is probaby the best allrounder.
