i thought it was samsung galaxy .. ?

HTC do make one with that name but it was a few years back and running windows 6.1 like more of a pocket PC than a real mobile phone

if it is ... dont go near it

Samsung Galaxy is on android OS like HTC Desire

Here is a review in all 3 phones

I've got a desire Al, and I love it, runs very smoothy on android, its getting on a bit now, but I've never had a problem apart from the usual dust inside the speaker and its been dropped off the scaffold a fair few times. :( Sarah has the Hd version she doesn't like it, too big and wants her Sony back, but I think they are great

i have the desire too .. its very good

the screen is bright aps load fast loads of software for it

the only thing i found to be a little problem is the cam

its a little slow to take pics and blur some times when moving or trying to hold still

Yeah i just got the desire - quality so far. Sh1ts on the iphone!!

As mark says, ive found the camera a bit crap compared to my previous phone (sony ericsson)

yea i have the desire Z which is the desire but also has a slide out keyboard, so if your not to keen on touch screen u can have the best of both worlds it has both full touch screen and qwerty keyboard and 10/10 phone they are brill !

My missus has one, spends all its time charging.Great phone but the battery life is shocking,I know of others who have said the same thing.Even with light gas bagging she says it only lasts a day ! !

you can get battery saver's but it basically turn's the brightness down and does a few other things like turns the wifi off, but they are crap as you have to keep enabling thing's to use it lol

i manage a full day on my phone and charge it over night so it's ok for me

If you go into (about phone) in the android settings menu there is a battery usage summary u will probably find that the display is drinking the battery turn the brightness down a fair bit (its still bright enough) this will make ure battery last longer, granted I charge mine when I go to bed every night, but I during the day I am constantly on the 300zx forum or browsing in some way ( whilst working) and it will last the duration, but this phone has fantastic capabilitys, bit like the z u put lots of fuel in it cause u like the way it moves.... same with the desire

Its not a bad little phone, we looked at them when looking for a new phone for the Missus. Its a decent middle of the range smartphone.

There are some smartphones that you could rate next to the iPhone, the Desire is not one of them though.

Depends... stock rom they are better than average , but my desire is rooted and I run cm7 on mine and it far exceeds the I phone, and other smartphones

You want to have a chat with Madmax (Martin) he gets all the new phones 1st and will not touch an Iphone, he uses his as a door stop.

Replacing your stock firmware does nothing for the Inferior screen and overall quality difference though.

im not keen on i-phone's, i like to be different from the rest lol

the Desire is'nt exactly different though, its probably the most popular smartphone.

You can prefer one smartphone over the other and you can dislike Apple as a company, but to call what is regarded as the benchmark leader for smartphones, and by far the highest quality of any smartphone.....as a doorstop, is the most rediculous comment I've ever heard.

The I phone screen quality camera quality hd quality doesn't compare to the desire. build quality also the I phone is a loser in all instances u just pay for the apple on the back n that's it

iPhone4 - 960 x 640, 326dpi

Desire - 800 x 480, 240dp

As for quality you have the iPhone 4 comprising of two sheets of class encompassing an aluminim chassis , versus the the plastic Desire.

Refuses to comment..........................holds tongue.....................mumble mumble mumble...................... exits thread!

Hopeless software smaller screen, no external memory and my htc has an aluminum back .... so yea if your mrs wants a htc and not some model of fruit i recommend the desire hands down end of!

oh, Im not reccomending the iPhone 4 when your looking at the Desire.

Just replying to the usual iPhone trash talk that comes up whenever anyone mentions any mobile phone. Some sort of paranoid dislusional addiction that affects all other smartphone owners it seems.
