Having suspected my centre bearing for driveline vibration for some time I put it on ramps today, crawled under and took a looksee. The rubber part seems all intact but the prop is sagging and sitting on the ring support instead of bang centre where I think it should be. I can jack under the prop and raise it to where it looks right but it sags straight back down. Guess the rubber is perished and doing no damping whatsoever. Plus out of line prop will vibrate and vibs will transmit straight to body.

Do I need a centre bearing support? I think yes. How much and does it come with a bearing or just rubber?

I have the warm up and the vib between 40-50 went away but now its there even at quite high speeds.

Thanks for any tips

Willie

I've got a centre bearing to do as well - my mechanic noticed the same thing when we were doing the rear gearbox mount in trying to get rid of vibes.

It comes as a complete unit.
