Temp sensor removal quick question ?

Before removing the temp sensor for a clean up i noticed a small squarish metal clip around the connector similar sort of size to a paper clip. Does this have to be removed before trying to disconnect the sensor ??

    That's the clip that secures the connector. You need to prise it off carefully without a) it hitting you in the eye, b) losing it, c) breaking it !

     

    Afterwards refit it to the connector BEFORE pluging it back onto the (newly cleaned) sensor.
