My handbrake on the UK zed is stretched as far as it can, no more adjustment, the handbrake is pointing to the targas

ive adjusted the rear shoes on the hubs, but the cable is at full extent.

I have a spare on my jap TT,which is not adjusted and locks brake at half way up. is it worth

1. removing just the front section from handbrake to where it becomes two cables.

2 removing the complete cable, front, and rear sections from the hubs

3 get a brand new set from nissan, but would think they are lots of cash.

 

Anyone had to do the same?

I would remove the cables and shoes from the hubs and replace them from your breaker.

Yep, same happened to me on my first silver one. JDM 2+2 TT Manual. After a while, the cables stretch and the adjusters run out of adjust. Then the MOT man runs out of "pass".

For the pair a few years ago, about £90 + VAT + delivery. That was 4 years ago so best check up-to-date prices with Mr F

Before you commit to changing the cables check out this link first as it is rarely the cables.

A very silly question, but on a SWB are the cables a different length? I would assume they were but just a thought... :)

I removed the nut holding the cable to the handle cos mine was fully adjusted up as well , slipped a 10mm spacer onto the cable , refitted the nut , you can now tighten it further as the cable will pull through the spacer that little bit more , worked a treat and doesn,t take long to do . HTH :thumbup:
