bloody well annoying.

think i liked the new proposals though. might make people think a bit more about applying for a claim against whiplash.

I had the most minor accident you could imagine, not a mark on my car and a slight scuff on the other car. It was so minor I never even noticed our cars touched and she drove after me too flag me down.

I got a letter from the insurance co. she was claiming whiplash :censored:

I assume none of you,s have had wiplash, i have quite severe and i still ache now round my neck, i agree there are many bogus claims but its the honest person who will suffer

I never seen the programme, how does it effect the unemployed who will get free legak aid, again the honest working man will suffer

I have had whiplash to the point i couldn't move my head for almost 2 weeks, and to be honest i still think until they find some way of proving it, then the issue needs to be addressed, people saying they have whiplash in a small rear shunt that would not give them whiplash, i find disgusting to be honest. i didn't claim whiplash as i was too young at the time (11 years old), not only that i wasn't in a car, i was on a push bike when a car rammed the back of me, i went up onto the bonnet and hit my head on the windscreen, then when he did brake, i slid off the bonnet on to the floor cracking my tail bone, all because the guy driving was changing a tape in his stereo and didn't see me.

But i have been in a rear end shunt, was in rushden, sitting at lights in the back of my mates car, when another hit the back of us, none of us claimed whiplash as we just wasnt hit hard enough.

Not sure Legal Aid will cover the new proposals. and i hope it doesnt, don't know about you, but im fed up with increased insurance premiums due to other people.

I hate high renewals but i doubt changing the rules are going to do owt, i pay extra for personel injury and legak cover so if i even get a hint of wiplash im sticking a claim in, if anyone doesnt agree with that then tough shit, untill they pay for my insurance i shouldnt be forced not to claim for any injury or loss by making it a toss up as to what mood a judge is in

There is no medical for depression but there are loads of people out there cream the state for it, sick of getting nowt and paying loads for the privaledge

not sure where you get your info from mate, but you do have a medical for depression, 2 of my mates went for it, and got signed fit for work, both were taking antidepressants, one was citriampram or how ever you spell it, the was taking something else.

I suppose it depends what government medical person you get at the time.

i know what you mean though, it is annoying when you pay into the system and some tosser who cant get off drugs or drink, or someone having babies just for a fecking house or cash get given everything. while old working joe blogs doesnt even get free dental or prescriptions.

Ive been on the dole, its not a nice place to be, im only doing part time work at the moment, but its enough to keep me from being signed on. but still not fun when trying to bring up two kids plus get a car back on the road.

I know what you're saying Stella, I'm inclined to agree. I think the only way forward in this situation is a mass social cleansing system. Basically, we round up all the scrounging, lazy, feckless, cheating scum and dig a very deep hole to bury them in.

It really is THE only way to get society back in order.

If you don't claim and somebody else does, you're just paying for the privelage of being honest. And Alan, you've clearly reached the point where enough is enough - I don't blame you at all. I just try to ignore it and carry on myself - then get really riled every time I actually think about it.

I wonder if Brussels would object to my 'plan' ? :scared:

Oh, and stop saying everything twice twice..

tbh, although I see a lot of the points here, I do disagree with the whiplash one, not because I think it's a fallacy (Even though half the time it is!) but because the payouts for it are far too large for what it is, where other, more serious injuries are ignored. Rose was in a stationary vehicle about 10 years ago, with her then 6 year old daughter and a friend, the car was then hit from behind by a porsche doing way more than the speed limit and the car was destroyed. Just as to show how bad the accident was, it was a Renault Scenic, with twin sunroofs, which after the accident became one sunroof, Roses chair back actually snapped after she rebounded off the A-Pillar (Yes she was wearing a seatbelt and no the airbag didn't trigger!) and had Ellie (The now 16, then 6 year old) not pulled her legs up into the phoeatal (sp?) position instinctively, she'd have lost her legs.

Rose and Ellie both got some compensation for the accident, but not all that much, Roses friend didn't claim, because he's just a bit slow in that department, but the stuff Rose did try to claim for, like her injured back, were dismissed as not a long term injury and she got nothing, not even medical attention, let alone compensation. 10 years on, last September I think it was, she had to take a week off work, because whilst putting on a pair of jeans, her back just collapsed on her! Same pain, same symptoms as just after the accident and on various occasions since, then just rectified itself after a few days, thing is, we know it'll happen again, because it keeps happening since the accident.

As for the people not working, not everyone chooses to be on the dole for a long time, it just happens, I've been there myself, HOWEVER, we no longer have things like road sweepers anymore, why not? There are thousands of people on the dole, perfectly capable of doing that job, why not put a broom in their hand and make them do it? Why can't dolies be allowed a few weeks to find a job (Time period variable depending on work experience/qualifications and track record of course, some people clearly need to be forced to work, others just can't find a job they're qualified for if they specialise) then get them shoved into public service for their dole money? Seems like a perfect solution to a very bad problem to me! Run the damn country like a business, you can't fire em (i.e. kill them or as leo said, bury them alive), so you demote them and give them a job they're capable of doing for adequate, recompense.

Personally if I'd had the choice when I was on the dole, of getting an unskilled, unqualified, low paid job, that I could take time off from to go for interviews for the skilled, qualified, higher paid jobs when I needed to, instead of sitting at home on **** all money, with nothing to do and going spare because I wanted to feed my family, I'd have jumped at the chance. Problem is, half the dolies CAN find a job, they just don't WANT to, so we should force them, you don't turn up to collect your broom, you don't get paid, if the streets we gave you aint clean, you don't get paid, you turn up, take your broom and make the street sparkle, we'll pay you minimum wage instead of crappy dole money and if you need a day of for a confirmed interview, you're most welcome!

No mention of Dolies in my mini rant - everyone falls on hard times, its just how quickly you get back up that counts.

And, secondly, what kind of monster do you think I am? I didn't say bury them alive - thats way too risky - some of them might escape. No, what I'd do is torch them alive first until they were crispy, then chuck them in the hole.

As for your plan of welfare reform - I completely agree.

I still think it would be better to instantly reduce the population by 10-20% though. Just my opinion. Thinking about it more seriously, we could burn the fat ones in power station furnaces to generate electricity.

Do they have petrol in hell? :devil2:

Oh and as for getting compo, some people really do deserve - my mate was knocked off his bike and smashed his knee. Now he's only half the competitor he was before. Things like that can ruin your life completely though. Trouble is, it would be way to costly to asess all those claims accurately. The money you save on pay outs would simply go to consultants instead. Unless the system can be seperated from car insurance I'm pretty sure the problem will always exist. When you think about it, its impossible to make sure the people who deserve it, get it. While also making sure those that dont, don't. There isn't a moral compass for many people when it comes to money. But that's another can of worms altogether. Communism anyone?

what i meant was that there isnt a test for depression, no bllod test or piss test or nowt, bit like whiplash, if you know how to cream the system you can, but i also think if you pay the extra for personal injury and extra legal on top of your premium then why not use it if your injured

as for no road sweeper's, we have them in sunderland and i know one or two of them, one of them work's on a sunday morning and get's £23 an hour, he is on about £10.50 an hour flat rate, wouldt mind the job myself lol

No doubt he's on a final salary pension and can retire when he reaches 35 too - which is another reason we all have so much money going out each month..
