oil pressure, what should the guage be on??

just bought a non turbo 300 and when the car is cold and the choke is on the guage sits about the 6 mark but as soon as it warms up the guage returns almost to the 0 mark, is this normal , otherwise the car is fantastic, thanks .

The oil pressure sensors are fairly unreliable and are usually the cause of the problem. They're easy to replace, but cost about £70 from Nissan ! I was told that oil pressure should be about 10psi per 1000rpm, but obviously that will vary with grade of oil and temp etc. Of couse if yours is a non-turbo, then it's an import and the gauge will be calibrated in 100mm/Hg, just to confuse you !

I'm having the same prob with my auto, see my post from last week to get similar responses to AndyP's

Cheers,
