my 300zx TT auto is just cutting out on me, when it reaches idle revs, and having major problems restarting...when it runs it has a flat spot, and very low revs (1-2000)..but then seem to pick up through the rev range fine...anyone have an idea on it pls guys?

I found that cleaning out the Throttle Bodies, TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) and the coolant temperature sensor connector every year seems to get rid of the hesitation my Zed sometimes gets.

 

But your restarting problem I have not got a clue about sorry.

I would be thinking about the AAC and FICD valves. Try cleaning the electrical connections.

By far the major problems I see on customers zeds is poor running and tickover related problems,most can be sorted by tb clean, tps checking and setting, a few air valve probs but of late have had 3 zeds in a row with throttle linageage`s not set correctly, a small error (2mm to 3 mm) here can lead to one throttle butterfly not opening at all till 1500 to 1800 rpm!! there is a definate sound when this is the case just as the first throttle opens a dull low hum as the engine tries to pick up and three cylinders are been fed differently! check this and aformentioned bitz too.
