Brought my car about 6 months ago (Jap import), and thought it was a bit strange that the speedo only had 120 mph on the clock. The other day i was clocked doing 140 mph and my speedo said 110 mph ( Hope theres no police reading this). The clock dial is the right shape and color to match my rev counter. So what the hecks going on, and what do i need to do. Have i got ot buy a new speedo or can someone sort it. Yours not knowing what speed Im doing Dave..........

well ive got three points now coz i went through a camera at fifty and got a ticket saying i was doin 65. so i got my bro on his fireblade to clock my speedand found out my speedo was wrong. any idears how to sort it?

I presume your car has had the speed restictor taken off or you wouldn't be able to do over 112mph. But you need to change the speedo face. You can get a new face and speedo convertor and do it your self. Resonably easy to do,about 100 quid, i'll find a phone no. soon.

Far east services supplied mine phone 01322 529647 / 07768 125400. Just be careful tho when taking needle off. Make sure needle comes off pin rather than pin comes out of speedo cos you might aswell throw it away and start again, so i hear.

mine is exactly the same. its the black box they fit to convert to mph, it drops out one of the sensing signals to give it an approx mph speed from kph. on the way up to brum meet with harve in tow we done the speed comparison test he was doing 74mph i was doing 63mph, we both have the same size wheels and tyres even same make. the only difference is that his is a u.k. one.
