autobox query

last 2 days when ive been going for the kickdown it seems to be only kicking down 1 gear, and im sure it was 2 before, no where near the same pull when u try to use it... any ideas? is it a sign of the box being on the way out?

Have you got the overdrive switched OUT ? That's the button on the selector, NOT the A/T switch on the console

on mine it usually depends what gear im in and the rev range... i assume ( correct me if im wrong- probably am ) that when you kick down it goes down one gear but depending on what gear it goes down too depends on the power delivery, ie if you are in second and kick down it will more likely throw you in your seat and take off like shit off a shovel, where as in third or fourth and up the revs alittle will kick you down one gear but you get less of the whiplash thron into the seat feeling ?? sometimes on mine it kicks down and throws me and all the passengers into the seats crying when in low gears but higher gears is just a smooth power delivery with less throwing of the passengers :D

i will agree with both of you .. it does depend on the Gear your in ..

say your in costing in 3rd around 30mph .. u boot it it will change in to 1st

depending on how low the RPM is to start ..

if u was at 55mph it will only drop one gear due to 1st/2nd being all most at there max RPM range in gear at that speed
