Steams Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I'll admit it, I absolutely hate the manta always have always will :death:. Quote
beermonster Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I wouldnt pay 10p for one but if you like that thing you have to pay the going rate I guess. Still not as bad as ford stuff which is basically junk these days, people get nostalgic and lose all sense of rational. At least with the zed you get decent performance and looks for your outlay. mantav8 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I'll admit it, I absolutely hate the manta always have always will :death:. OI !!!:tt2: Quote
mantav8 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I'd rather have this.............. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OPEL-MANTA-RESTORATION-/250822218011?_trksid=p4340.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI%26its%3DC%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D15%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D206969771420024847 :ninja: Quote
RichardS Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I would not pay £10 for that!! But I did like the Manta - I had a 2.0 Berlinetta way back when I was 18 and loved it to bits.... Now if that had been a very tidy, stock GT/E coupe it may be worth a bit more - although certainly not £10k..... Richard:wacko: Quote I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
Gaz 300 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Always liked the Manta but never had one I used to race them in my 28i Capri lol This one is much better http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2152388.htm Quote
Quavey Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Looks like his "0" key got stuck down... of the road for 15 years, scrap value at best? Even the petrol in it will be goosed! Quote
ck300z Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 i'd say its worth a fair amount restored with that work done but i'd like to think his zero key malfunctioned for a split second!! i certainly would not pay anywhere near 10k for it Quote
Guest Monkey Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I'd sooner have a Monza. GSe old school cool Quote
Guest Chris Bower Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 My dad used to have a white manta GTE in the 90's used to take the piss out of him the boot leaked that much we called it a goldfish bowl and it ended up growing mushrooms out the boot carpet Quote
(adl) phoenix Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 tbh i hated the manta till my mate took me out in his rover V8 powered one, completly changed my opinion on them..... untill on the way to rallyday inb the rain it went into the back of one of the ADL celicas... hahah Quote
boldy Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Rover v8 would be ace in a manta!! That,s where Mantav8 got his name and it was a nice bit of kit :punk::punk: Quote
stellaZ Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 i love old school stuff like this, i know where there is a mk2 cavalier cabby going very cheap, i fancied it myself Quote

ck300z Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 yep the manta was a nice motor but same Al i relly like the mk2 cav and have debated searching for one many times :/ Quote
Guest HollowPoint Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I'm in the 2.8i Capri camp I'm afraid, hated Mantas with a passion, not because I ever drove one, or because I knew they were crap, because I was a Ford fanbois and loved the Capri :D Quote
ck300z Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 i did love the capri to and most classic fords i had a 1.6 laser for a while and converted it to a 2.0 but then a 17yr old who had not long passed his test ended up with it and rolled it!!! :( Quote
