Steams Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I'm going to upgrade from XP to 7 but not sure which version I want. I would ideally like Ultimate 64bit but I'm not sure I can run old games/ emulators i.e. MAME etc and still use Office 2003 with it? what's the difference between 32 and 64bit, apart from 64bit being quicker I mean. What would people recommend? Quote
murt Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Run Ultimate 64 bit, it can of course also run 32 bit applications, and it wont have any issues running mame or office 2003 ( I can still make original games like Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keepers CnC etc run on Ultimate 64 bit =)) Quote
ck300z Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 There was a thread by someone else on this but it was very helpful and explained how the program files for 32bit applications are split form the 64bit ones, may be worth a look :D Quote
vodkashots Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 mate, im running everything you want to run and im running win7 x64 ultimate so yeah your going to be fine, it will even run the N64 emu's and EPSXE as well, and DOS box and also, the Amiga emulator. Quote

It'll be good to ditch 32bit. Quote
Batman Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 As above i have the same os and works with everything and anything :d Quote
ck300z Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 amiga emulator you say you just running uae or a full o/s mate? Quote
