bobbyfame Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Been a couple of years since I crashed my Zed and toying with the idea of dipping my toe back in the water but should I be expecting a massive kick in the teds on insurance this time? Quote
MarkDerby Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 well mine was 340 from lynbrooks fully comp with no claims bonus taken in to account didnt think that was to bad Quote
davelavelle Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 My Z was £265 fully comp. I have had 4 accidents - 2 my own fault. 2 of them within the last 18 months. Not that I can drive my Z as it stalling. I am hoping a fuel filter may cure the issue but my luck probably not. Dave Quote

Yowser Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 It will all depend on the nature of the accident, cost of claim..etc Just put your details into a broker like comparethemarket.com and see what it says, only takes a few mins. At least if they are somewhat reasoable you can then shop around some of the specialists to see if it can be beaten. Quote

Medallion Man Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 lots of people quote insurance prices and quite often it gets my hopes up ......... until I find out that they have some strange classic policy... can't drive after 13:47 pm or on public holidays or if humidity reaches 25.3 %... millage limits of 47.5 miles per year... AAAHhhhhhhhhh........ what if its an import, has some mods and you use your car as a daily drive and do over 15000 miles per year ? you know normal car stuff !!!! would be nice if people stated exactly what their insurance covers when stating a price. apologies if that seems a bit harsh...lol.. :) Quote
davelavelle Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Ive got low mileage use, as I have another Car Jaguar Sovereign, and a work van that covers me for private and commercial use. I have limited mileage of 2500 per year which is more than adequate as I have a jag that's unlimited mileage. I don't have any mods on the 300 yet. Its only for social not commuting. Hope that covers it. Quote
Medallion Man Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 LOL... I think I hate you... :D ... I've only got the 300 .... Quote

leo-r32gts Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 My insurance is about 700 quid a year fully comp with Sky insurance. 6 Yrs NCB 500 excess 7000 miles per year all mods declared no accidents or convictions in the last 5 years Lives in one of the worst car crime post codes in the country Car parked on private driveway Cat 1 alarm My actual mileage is about 3000 a year though and thats likely to be reduced even further, now I'm not at home to drive the bloody thing. Will see what they say once I've added some more bits to it - no doubt I'll be rogered royally from behind  Quote
