cheers guys, ive got a meguirs wax on it at the moment, gonna do it agiain next week and get some super resin polish then a carnauba wax or hd wax

im chuffed with it, started about 9 this morn and just finished lol

Auto Glym HD wax is very good, I'd go for that

[steps onto soapbox]

Oh, and 'Carnauba Wax' is actually the name of an ingredient in all good hard waxes - any product that claims to be 100% carnauba wax, isn't! If it was 100% pure carnauba wax it would cost thousands.

Legally speaking, it may CONTAIN 100% carnauba wax, (i.e. the small percentage of carnauba in it may have originally been pure) but it will contain many other ingredients and waxes to make it usable/fragrant/lasting etc.

[/steps off soapbox]

Sorry, I'll get me coat

Spot on mate. Auto Glym Super Resin Polish is just about the best all rounder polish on the market, and has been for years (trade valeters use it too, just comes under a different name).

A stella effort,

If you use the right kind of wax it will seal all your hard work from the elements. So that when you wash it, you clean the grime off but leave the wax (or most of it), meaning you just need to keep topping up the wax and can leave your clay bar alone.

Also beware of impurities in the clay - they can quickly turn into scouring pads if you're not careful.

That looks fantastic though - could almost forgive you for your choice of motor when it looks that good! Almost..

Half a day is pretty good going too - just be glad you don't have the coupe!

thought it took to quick but then remembered that it doesnt have a roof to do so half the time, although i have got a hartop in the spare room lol

ive just been offered hd wax for £23 and srp for £9, gonne get it next week and do it again

it did help that the car was machine polished by me a few months back so the paint wasnt really bad anyway

there is quite a lot of stone chips on the front and on the door mirrors that dont show on the pics but still looks great

pissing down now lol

Don't you just hate that.. :death:

C'mon fess up - anyone else been out with the shammy after a shower, just to get rid of the bloody water marks again? My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts.. I do have a bit of OCD when it comes to cleaning though.. :detective:

You really shouldn't need to clay bar it every weekend though - it'll be wearing the paint down if your not careful! That said, the first pic you posted the other day when you had done the door - I actually thought it was a chrome finish and that you really had got the Stella livery draped all over it. That was a really good sig by the way - whoever did that has talent!

Good Job, admit it, you have a clay bar fixation now ! :)

Dunno, I like to see rain beading of a freshly polished car, I only hate it if it happens before I finished :p

I have been known to use a Quick Detailer after a downpour. OCD big time when it comes to keeping my Zed shiny. The dirtiest it's ever been was after the 200mile round trip for the Zedworld bash. And i'm still not over it lol.

AL, looks great mate, did you clay the whole car? ive found using the meguirs clay and detailer gets the best results, then every other wash, a coat of autoglym super resin, then a coat of meguirs gold class, makes dark cars really deep and sine.

Good work bud.
