Is there anyone on here that is good at writing training schedules for an elite target? I can do weights programs no problems but never been really good at writing CV training schedules and i have a personal target that i want to achieve.

Im not talking about losing a bit of weight or anything like that it is an elite rigorous tailored schedule that i need help with

Cheers

My father has ran all across the world and has done some extreme running (ultras, Desert, etc etc) he completed Boston marathon a few days ago, you want to get in touch bud?

ok well as my goal isnt marathons it would be a totally different type of training. My aim is 1.5 mile in 8 minutes 30 seconds that is what i need a tailored made program for therefore needs to be a runner how knows all types of training and how it is best to mix them ie the 3 energy zones, heart rate running zones and what would be best to achieve this.

what kind of time frame are you hoping to achieve this and how long does it take you now?

my last one was 9:45 as ive been injured for about 10 months so just getting back to fitness however my PB is 9 minutes. I think it is achievable within 6 months

ooops.OK I get the better picture now. So marathons arnt your thing. Me neither! I'd still phone and ask tho. A question and a chat costs nothing. ( being Her/a local gym instructor/ a 'proper' running shop specialist) we cant take all day discussing your diet/ weight/age of your trainers on here.

butTBH 8.5 isnt pushing it unless your old???? hehehe. Best of luck.

Maybe organise a race someday?????

Im only 31 however ive never been a fast runner im built for weights so have to switch training a bit. My trainers are sorted ive been to a pro running shop and running on brooks as after videoing in different trainers they were giving me the best take off and landing. Its amazing when you see the difference it makes and well worth it if your serious about running.

you seem clued in enough. you do. I can offer this to build up your heart strength and it helps with acid/oxygen degrogation. It helps the mind deal with the want to give up/stop and just walk for a bit. repeat this for tooo long a period of time you will grow fast twitch muscles. Its just a good starter. a booster.

#find a footy pitch. walk the length of the side line. 20 yards before the corner be jogging. after the corner be running at 40% of your max speed(long strides)along the width of the pitch.at the next corner be running 90%(90% of your fastest sprinting speed) for the whole length of the pitch. after the third corner drop to 40% speed again(long strides). after the fourth corner of the pitch walk....Ad nauseam. [its not a slow up and down, its four stages.] this is your first 3 weeks. never 2 days in a row.

PS. just for perspective a footie pitch is 340m roughly(they can vary so much!!!) round.

1 mile = 1 609.344 metres so 2414m is ya target, thats 7 laps.

all the best.
